Introducing  Deborah B. Schwartz, MD, FACOG

Dr. Schwartz is an experienced, board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who joined us after eight years with the North Bronx Healthcare Network, which encompasses Jacobi Medical Center and North Bronx Central Hospital. Dr. Schwartz values a strong doctor-patient relationship in which the patient feels comfortable sharing her healthcare needs and concerns. Highly trained in all aspects of general obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Schwartz enjoys providing continuity of care, seeing each patient through a range of health matters throughout her lifetime.

A native New Yorker, Dr. Schwartz received her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists; she is also a member of the New York Gynecological Society and the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. She speaks fluent Spanish.

While an attending obstetrician-gynecologist at the North Bronx Healthcare Network, Dr. Schwartz’ duties included direct patient care in office and hospital settings; she is an accomplished gynecologic surgeon and obstetrician. During this time, she was also an assistant professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and provided education to the residents and medical students. Additionally, she served as chair of the Peer Review Committee and as a high school student mentor in the Einstein Enrichment Program.

Dr. Schwartz provides:

  1. General primary and preventive health care for women;
  2. Prenatal care and all obstetrical services, including labor and delivery;
  3. Birth control, complete gynecologic exams, and testing;
  4. HPV testing and vaccine to help prevent cervical cancer;
  5. Medical and surgical care for gynecologic problems, including fibroids, abnormal bleeding, and premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
