Dr. Cummings has been a faculty attending physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke's-Roosevelt since 2002; she is also an assistant clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Cummings received her undergraduate education at Barnard College, Columbia University, in New York City. She earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. While in medical school, she was active in the Student National Medical Association, serving as regional director for New York and New Jersey in 1997. Dr. Cummings’ residency training in obstetrics and gynecology took place at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt. In 2001, her resident colleagues awarded her the department’s David B. Crawford Prize, and she was also finalist for a teaching award given by the medical students at Columbia University. She is a junior fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Cummings is interested in all aspects of general obstetrics and gynecology.
