Dr. Corbett received her undergraduate degree from Brandeis University, attended graduate school in biology and biochemistry at Howard University, and earned her doctorate in medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School in Newark. While in medical school, Dr. Corbett was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, and received six alumni association awards for her academic performance. Also in medical school, she won a Brystol Myers Squibb National Medical Fellowship to conduct a study on the correlation of telomere length and telomerase activity in SV40 transformed cells, and was awarded an NIH Heart, Lung and Blood Institute Training Grant for work on the relation of endothelin to hypoxia in fetal umbilical circulation. Dr. Corbett received her training in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Luke's-Roosevelt, where she served as administrative chief resident in 2003, and on the Quality Improvement, Resident Education, Resident Selection, and Breast Feeding Committees of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is board-eligible in the obstetrics and gynecology specialty, and belongs to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and to the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
