Caring for Women; Cherishing Birth
Sylvie Blaustein, CNM, opened the office of Midwifery of Manhattan (MOM) in the Summer of 2003. Yet the midwives at Midwifery of Manhattan share among them nearly forty years of experience providing midwifery care.

Our office, located less than two blocks from Roosevelt Hospital’s Birthing Center, provides an intimate setting for prenatal, postpartum, and well-woman visits.

“Each birth is an experience to cherish, no matter how many deliveries we attend,” says Ms. Blaustein. “The joy of being a midwife is evident in our practice, as we each find aring for women to be our calling. I can remember my first clinical rotation with such vivid clarity even though it was in 1986. I recall the reassuring voice of my preceptor, a wonderful midwife who seemed to hold all the wisdom of the world in her experienced hands and heart. Now I seek to bring that reassurance to every woman we support in childbirth.”
